Electric vehicles (EVs) have built-in AC-to-DC converters that convert AC power from the grid to DC for charging the EV battery. This built-in converter is known as an onboard charger (OBC).

 

To reduce charging time, OBC and charging system power has increased and evolved from 1-phase to 3-phase.

 

A high performance 1-phase / 3-phase AC source can test an OBC with various voltage and frequency combinations. Built-in power simulation functionality can effectively test your onboard charger in less time.
