Automotive and Industrial Ethernet: Moving Beyond Standards Validation to System-Level Testing
With maturity and wide adoption of technologies like audio video bridging (AVB) and time-sensitive networking (TSN), companies must now move beyond standards and interoperability validation. Today’s automotive Ethernet and industrial Ethernet networks have entered a new phase that requires a new type of testing—one that includes system-level validation that uses realistic application mixes. Whether a traffic mix that includes car diagnostics, engine control systems, and body electronics; or robotics, motors, sensors, and switches—only with real-world test workloads can you verify that your network meets the needs of each application. In this paper, we’ll look at examples in both automotive and industrial networks that highlight the need for more comprehensive testing and introduce an effective validation solution.
