The BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) provides the “intelligence” in the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) on the M9037A. This new BMC version prevents a rare event that causes corruption of CMOS data. The data corruption can potentially keep the chassis from powering on. When the event happens, the user must clear the CMOS, thus removing the data corruption and allowing the chassis to power on. Because the event is rare, it’s only recommended that you update your BMC if you have had to clear your CMOS. The update documentation describes how to boot to DOS from a USB Flash Drive and run the update utility.
