Keysight Advanced DMMs come in two classes. The DM6-class includes the 34460A-34465A and DM34460A-DM34461A, and the DM7 includes the 34470A.
Advanced digital multimeters (DMMs) go beyond our Essential models, offering 6.5- and 7.5-digit resolution for enhanced accuracy, reduced noise, and minimized measurement errors. These DMMs feature improved triggering and digitizing capabilities, with a sampling rate of up to 50k samples per second to measure fast-changing signals like a clock pulse in a high-frequency circuit or an unwanted transient noise signal. Choose from our popular configurations or customize one to meet your specific application needs. Need help selecting? Check out the resources below.
Provides real-time measurements to detect voltage fluctuations, unstable signals, or current irregularities, which are indicators of faults or performance problems.
Analyze dynamic current consumption of low-power devices with 1 microamp range and picoamp resolution.
Enhanced triggering and digitizing features enable you to capture and isolate specific events and troubleshoot fast-changing signals.
Self-calibrates regularly to reduce errors due to temperature and internal drifts, ensuring accuracy for long-duration characterization tests.

34465A
6.5 digit Truevolt DMM with Truevolt technology for greater accuracy and quicker measurement insights. Replacement for models 34410A/34411A.
Keysight 34465A 6.5 digit multimeter offers unprecedented levels of accuracy, speed and resolution. They can measure very low current down to a 1 μA range, enabling their use on very low power devices. The ability to auto-calibrate during the measurement allows the 34465A to maintain a calibrated measurement while the instrument may be going through temperature drift/changes.
Graphical capabilities, including trend charts and histograms, facilitate greater user insight gained more quickly. This 6.5-digit multimeter model provides a data logging mode for easier trend analysis and a digitizing mode for capturing transients.

A fast-reading rate in a digital multimeter (DMM) is important because it directly affects how quickly and accurately you can observe changes in your measurements. The following are the key reasons why a fast-reading rate matters in a DMM:
A digital multimeter can measure current (I) and voltage (V). If you have both measurements, calculating the DC power is simply multiplying both the current (I) and voltage (V) measurements. Most digital multimeters have an internal architecture that inhibits their ability to measure both at the same time. However, if you use a few techniques and the right equipment, you can get a good I and V measurement from your benchtop DMM. Here are some steps to follow:
Modern digital multimeters also have a frequency or period measurement function. This function normally measures the frequency of an AC signal or any type of periodic signal. Usually, it measures how fast a motor is spinning, where the frequency you measure becomes revolutions per minute (RPM).
Other applications are troubleshooting electronic boards, such as verifying whether the oscillator circuit or audio circuits are functioning properly. In installations and machines, portable DMMs are used to check AC mains frequency, motors, and variable-frequency drive circuits.
