Stream ICT Data to Analytics

Streaming test data from in-circuit test (ICT) systems requires a mechanism to detect test completion events and transfer both metadata and measurement results to an analytics platform. The system generates raw log data locally after executing a test plan on a device under test, along with metadata such as machine identity, project name, and system parameters. A messaging protocol is used to signal when data is ready for retrieval and to enable communication between distributed systems.

The implementation uses a publish-subscribe protocol where the test system publishes event messages to a broker under defined topics. Once the analytics platform subscribes and receives the event notification, it parses the message content and invokes an application programming interface to retrieve the raw log data. This data is then transported to the analytics server for processing, enabling aggregation, visualization, and monitoring of test results and equipment status.

ICT Data Streaming Using MQTT

The test data streaming process requires generating event-driven notifications and transferring measurement data from test systems to an analytics platform. The solution uses a publish-subscribe messaging protocol to communicate between machines and servers, ensuring efficient and scalable data exchange. The ICT system publishes event messages containing metadata and test completion signals to an message queuing telemetry transport (MQTT) broker. The analytics platform subscribes to these topics, receives notifications, and retrieves detailed test logs through a REST API. This architecture supports lightweight communication, bidirectional messaging, and real-time data availability. Additional machine status events such as fixture operations and test execution states can also be transmitted, enabling extended analytics such as equipment utilization and downtime monitoring.
