Digital 2-way radios being developed for the radio market bring new testing challenges and hurdles to overcome for manufacturers and depot testing. Radio technologies are requiring wider bandwidths, higher frequencies, and multiple radio format capabilities.

Keysight’s M8920A Radio Test Set supports many formats by combining PXI hardware with application-specific software in a single flexible and scalable chassis, providing broad multi-format coverage for next-generation radio testing. It has a scalable modular architecture for efficient and complete test development and execution needed for the manufacturing and radio maintenance environment. It also supports general-purpose measurements and commercial standards (LTE, WLAN, and Bluetooth) for next generation radio test. Using the Keysight KS83120B Analog Land Mobile Radio Test Plugin, you can automatically test your radios with no programming required.

Application:

  • RF and audio signal generation and analysis for military, public safety, and avionics radio communications
  • Analog/digital signal formats measurements including APCO P25, Tetra, DMR, and dPMR

RF/AF Spectrum

  • Tx and Rx measurements: hum and noise, SINAD and THD, SNR, sensitivity, modulation quality

The M8920A is a hardware bundle of a Vector Transceiver, RF Interface and Audio modules, the user also needs the Radio Test SW (N9093EM0E) plus a PXIe chassis and controller to complete this testing solution.
