Global military units face unique and often difficult communications challenges. International conflicts put a strain on communications capabilities. In rural or conflict areas, it is a challenge to ensure transmission due to the lack of infrastructure. Yet mission critical success depends on a common operational image of the situation based on shared information, images, maps, and more. Military agencies also use digital modulation to maximize finite spectrum, squeezing more users into the same or less spectrum while enabling higher data rates.
