About This Class

This training provides the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to develop a Board Test program using the Keysight i3070 Multiplexed Board Test system. You will learn the essential test development process, from translating printed circuit board CAD data and completing the board description to generating test and fixture files.

The class provides hands-on experience in developing, turning on, and debugging both unpowered and powered tests using Keysight development and debug tools. It also introduces the i3070 hardware and software environment, fixture verification tools, and the processes used to support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). Typically, Class I and II are taken consecutively.

• A basic understanding of electronics

• Introduction to the i3070 test development process
• Overview of the 3070 hardware and how it works
• Overview of the 3070 software and how it is controlled
• Develop the "config" file—a software description of the system and test
• Translation of CAD data
• Complete the board description using the Keysight Board Consultant and Part Description Editor
• Generate and evaluate the "testability.rpt"
• Introduction to test fixtures and fixture verification tools
• Generate fixture files and test files using Keysight Test Consultant
• Understand unpowered tests, including Pins, Shorts, Analog In-circuit, and TestJet
• Turn on and debug unpowered tests using Keysight’s Engineer Interface
• Understand powered tests, including Power Supply setup, Digital In-circuit, and Analog Functional
• Turn on and debug powered tests using Keysight’s PushButton Debug Interface
• Apply the test development process to a second board to reinforce learning
• Use Test Consultant in Interactive Mode
• Use Fixture Consultant to customize fixture wiring
• Work with challenging unpowered analog circuits
