As mmWave and RFIC designs grow more complex, ensuring layout accuracy before foundry handoff has become increasingly critical. For MMIC designers working at high frequencies, traditional Layout Versus Schematic (LVS) checks must go beyond basic connectivity validation to account for custom layout structures, foundry-specific process requirements, and the nuances of advanced RF and microwave design. This case study highlights how Altum RF, WIN Semiconductors, and Keysight collaborated to enhance Desktop LVS capabilities within Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS), enabling designers to identify and correct layout issues earlier in the design flow while staying within a familiar, integrated EDA environment.
