Keysight’s VSA‑X Xcelerate Measurement Analysis solution addresses these challenges with a modern, high‑performance software framework designed specifically for DVT and manufacturing test.

 

VSA‑X extends the trusted measurement science of Keysight’s industry‑leading 89600 Vector Signal Analyzer (VSA) into automated production environments. By decoupling signal acquisition from analysis and enabling pipelined, concurrent execution, VSA‑X keeps both RF hardware and compute resources fully utilized. This architecture allows multiple measurements to execute in parallel on a single server, delivering two to ten times — or even greater — test speed improvements compared to traditional serial execution, depending on system configuration and available CPU resources.

 

A key advantage of VSA‑X is its seamless workflow from R&D to production. Engineers develop, configure, and validate measurements interactively in 89600 VSA using familiar tools and workflows. These same measurements are exported as standard .setx files and deployed directly into VSA‑X for automated DVT or manufacturing test, without re‑authoring or duplication. When anomalies are detected in production, the identical .setx configuration can be loaded back into 89600 VSA for deep, interactive analysis and refinement. This bidirectional workflow improves measurement consistency, reduces development time, and lowers overall risk.

 

VSA‑X uses the same proven analysis IP as 89600 VSA, repackaged into a server‑based engine optimized for speed and scalability. Test developers interact with the VSA‑X measurement server using C# or Java APIs, streaming IQ data and triggering asynchronous configuration and calculation. Concurrency and parallelism are managed at the server and licensing level rather than in test code, enabling systems to scale through deployment and licensing changes instead of costly software rewrites.

 

The solution supports a wide range of wireless and communications technologies, including 5G NR, LTE (FDD and TDD), WLAN (802.11 variants), W‑CDMA, GSM/EDGE, and NB‑IoT. Licensing is modular and flexible, consisting of a base server license, optional concurrency add‑ons, and measurement application licenses per technology. Multiple license types — node‑locked, transportable, USB‑portable, and floating — are supported, with both perpetual and subscription options to meet diverse operational and financial requirements.

 

VSA‑X also provides built‑in visibility into system performance through a dashboard that displays server activity, concurrency usage, and per‑measurement execution timing.
