Niels Faché

Senior Vice President

Design Engineering Software

Niels Faché is the senior vice president of Keysight’s Design Engineering Software (DES) business. In this role, he oversees the company’s efforts to build a broader multi-physics virtual prototyping and software quality engineering portfolio, enabling design teams to address growing product engineering complexity.

Previously, he served as vice president and general manager of DES, where he spearheaded significant growth in electronic design automation and drove consistent innovation, including several strategic acquisitions.

Before his tenure in DES, Niels led Keysight’s Remarketing Solutions Division (RSD) and Services Portfolio organization within the Global Services Organization. Under his leadership, RSD doubled sales over eight years through a compelling used-equipment strategy, supply-side programs, and a successful eBay eCommerce store.

Throughout his career, he has held a variety of roles at Keysight and its predecessors, including positions in R&D, marketing, and product planning. He has consistently leveraged technology and talented teams to build successful organizations. He played a key role in launching the MXA and PXA signal analyzers and shifted the Mobile Broadband Division’s focus from manufacturing to R&D test, while still securing major 3G production wins.

Niels joined Hewlett-Packard in 1994 after co-founding Alphabit, a startup acquired by HP. Alphabit developed Momentum, a pioneering electromagnetic simulator that remains central to Keysight’s EDA offerings.

He holds master’s and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering (both summa cum laude) from the University of Ghent, a business degree from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, and has completed coursework at the Stanford Center for Professional Development.
