Barcode labels are everywhere, and it is a method of representing data in a visual, machine-readable form. Barcode labels on the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) enable the manufacturers to track the status of the PCB through various stages of the manufacturing process, such as assembly, testing, final assembly, and packaging. This application note describes how you can set up a barcode scanner on the i7090 Massively Parallel In-Circuit Test System without needing an operator to manually scan the barcode on PCBs.
Barcode Scanning Strategy
The following two options are available for your consideration.
Scanning from upstream
Mount the barcode reader at the upstream link conveyor and connect it to the Com port from the computer. This option enables the system to check for the scanning status before the PCB enters the i7090 test zone for testing.
