Keysight XN4-class USB vector network analyzers include the Streamline Series VNAs. They provide high performance in a lightweight, portable form factor — ideal for labs with limited space. Unlike benchtop vector network analyzers, which are standalone instruments, USB VNAs connect to a host PC to handle data processing and analysis. Transfer your component characterization data across the workflow easily using the same user interface, measurement capabilities, and automation code as our benchtop and modular vector network analyzers. Get the same measurement reliability as our Essential benchtop VNAs in a portable unit. With models ranging from 2 to 6 ports, select the USB vector network analyzer that is right for your application.
Keysight modular vector network analyzers provide you with Essential benchtop level-performance in a compact, flexible form factor, helping you scale your multiport and multidevice testing needs. While the dynamic range of conventional switch-based systems limits measurement speed, modular VNAs allow wider intermediate frequency bandwidths to test faster. Support up to 50 ports in a single chassis. With models ranging from 9 kHz to 53 GHz, select the modular VNA that is right for your application.

Vector network analyzers are test instruments that measure electrical network parameters. They are essential for radio frequency (RF) and microwave component analysis of various passive and active devices, including filters, antennas, and power amplifiers.
Network analyzers are the go-to instrument to conduct transmission, reflection, and impedance measurements, as well as scattering parameters (S-parameter) measurements during design and production processes.
They also support non-linear distortion analysis, vector calibration, and real-time measurements, enabling engineers to test and optimize components for high-speed and high-precision applications. The ability to measure across a wide frequency range with high accuracy makes VNAs indispensable in the development and manufacturing of RF and microwave devices.
A vector network analyzer (VNA) measures the electrical performance of RF and microwave components, circuits, and systems by analyzing how signals propagate through them. It evaluates key parameters, including gain, loss, reflection, impedance, and phase shift, across a wide frequency range. Engineers use VNAs to characterize devices such as antennas, filters, amplifiers, cables, and connectors, ensuring that designs meet strict performance requirements in applications including wireless communications, radar, aerospace, automotive, and 5G.
VNAs perform these measurements by sending a calibrated RF signal into the device under test (DUT) and capturing the vector response, including both amplitude and phase, across the frequency spectrum. This enables precise measurement of S-parameters (S11, S21, S12, S22), including transmission (gain, insertion loss), reflection (return loss, VSWR), and impedance. VNAs support a wide range of applications, including spectrum and pulse measurements, active device testing, and advanced component modeling, making them indispensable in both research and development (R&D) and production environments.
VNA calibration is the process of correcting systematic errors in a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) to establish an accurate measurement reference plane at the device under test. Calibration removes errors caused by cables, connectors, mismatch, and instrument imperfections.
All VNAs require calibration to achieve accurate amplitude and phase measurements. Regular calibration compensates for drift, connector wear, cable changes, and environmental factors.
Top network analyzers for RF testing offer wide frequency coverage, excellent dynamic range, low trace noise, and reliable calibration accuracy.
Keysight VNAs are widely used in RF labs and production lines because they support everything from component‑level S‑parameters to advanced nonlinear device characterization.
