PathWave Device Modeling 2023 is available now!
PathWave Device Modeling (IC-CAP) 2023 is the next major release of PathWave Device Modeling software. This release introduces the Model Generator, a new framework to create, manage, execute and document modeling projects. The Model Generator enables engineers to automatically import and organize DC and S-parameters measured data for several devices and temperatures. A new Scaling Plots dialog creates scaling, or trend plots of custom Figures of Merits (FOMs) used to extract parameters. A custom flow organizes the extraction steps to be executed and documented. The Model Generator also enables model verification and report generation.
Model Generator Framework
The new Model Generator (MG) framework efficiently organizes and manages modeling extraction projects and is part of the core environment license. You can import and organize DC, CV, Noise, and S-parameters data from different devices and temperatures with one click. A device table is automatically generated after import, and you can Preview and filter the data before modeling. On the Extract page, quickly add extraction steps with your choice of Plots and Parameters to tune and optimize. A dedicated dialog enables you to preview and select the Plots. The new ‘Search and Select’ feature in Optimizer's Parameter Tables allows you to find and insert the parameters in the extraction step quickly.
The MG works with any device model and supported simulator; however, Keysight's PathWave Advanced Design System (ADS) is recommended to maximize performance.
Scaling Plots Tool
A new Scaling Plots dialog creates scaling or trend plots of Figures of Merits (FOMs) vs. instance parameters, bias, or frequency. Figures of Merits like Vth, Ftmax, Idmax, etc., are defined using Python and can easily be customized. The tool enables you to define a group of devices to be used in the scaling plots. The resulting graphics are simulation-ready and can later be used in the flow for tuning and optimization along with the classic plots from measurements.
GaN CMC Extraction Examples
Updated GaN CMC extraction examples to the latest versions, including thermal and trapping.
ANN Hybrid Modeling Example
A new Artificial Neural Network (ANN) Modeling example shows how to deploy ANN using a hybrid approach that combines a standard equation-based model with ANN to improve accuracy.
Driver for Keysight M9601A PXIe Precision SMUs
The new driver for Keysight M9601A PXIe Precision SMUs.
