DCA Node-Locked and Device-Locked Licensing
Node-Locked FlexDCA (N1010100A, N1010200A, N1010300A) and FlexOTO (N1002000A, N1002014A, N1002048A, N1002128A) licenses can be redeemed as either a classic node-locked license or as a device-locked license. Depending on the format of the entered Host/Device ID used during redemption, Keysight Software Manager (KSM) will generate a license file in the corresponding format.
Device-Locked licensing is not supported for the following license types: Transportable, Network/Floating, or USB.
Node-Locked
Classic node-locked licenses are installed on PCs, DCA-X mainframes (N1000A, 86100D), and UXR real-time oscilloscopes (for the FlexRT application). A classic node-locked license is created when the Keysight Host ID is used for redemption. Classic node-locked licenses are installed on the instrument or PC hard drive.
The Keysight Host ID contains a COMMA (example: PCSERNO,AB12345678 or UXR0402A,US12345678).
Device-Locked
Device-locked licenses are installed on DCA-M family products including N109xx, N107xx, and N1002A. A device-locked license is created when the Device ID, <model number><dash><serial number>, is used for redemption. Device-locked licenses are installed in an instrument's internal memory and are independent from the controlling PC. FlexDCA A.07.00 or later is required.
The Device ID contains a DASH (example: N1092A-US12345678).
License Manager
- Beginning with PLM 7.5/KSM-U, both classic node-locked and device-locked licenses may be managed in PLM/KSM-U. These license manager versions are installed with FlexDCA A.07.90 and later.
- PLM 7.4 and earlier can manage device-locked licenses, but not classic node-locked licenses (use KLM5 instead).
