There are six fundamental field tests used to validate and optimize 5G network performance in real-world environments:

4. Over-the-Air Control Channel Coverage Testing
In 5G, control information such as synchronization and broadcast signals are sent using focused beams instead of wide-area broadcasts. This test checks whether user devices can reliably detect and decode those signals across the coverage area. It helps confirm that the network can properly connect and communicate with devices.
5. Network Quality and Beam Performance Verification
This test measures how well the network maintains high-speed, low-latency connections as devices move. It includes checking data speed, delay, handover between cells, and how effectively the network switches or tracks signal beams aimed at a device. These measurements reflect the real-world experience of using 5G.
6. Electromagnetic Field (EMF) Exposure Evaluation
This test measures the amount of electromagnetic energy emitted by 5G equipment in public or work areas. Engineers use calibrated sensors to ensure that energy levels stay within safety guidelines set by the government or international health organizations.
