Configure WaveJudge for Optimal Analysis

The WaveJudge GUI provides many parameters for flexibly configuring data capture, decoding, and analysis.

 

Decoding

The message list shows the decoded data from multiple layers. View messages, parameter values, header and tail bits and raw data in hexadecimal and binary. Configure detailed analysis across layers in RF charts and message windows.

 

Deciphering

Data sent on wireless networks is often secured with encryption to protect the information and the users. The encrypted data must then be deciphered before delivery to the recipient. WaveJudge deciphers encrypted data sent on cellular and Wi-Fi networks providing verification of the encryption process.

 

Data on Wi-Fi networks is secured using WPA encryption. Three levels of WPA encryption exist today: WPA, WPA2, and WPA3, although WPA is older and used less frequently. WaveJudge deciphers data secured with WPA and WPA2 PSK encryption.

 

On cellular networks, data is encrypted on the SIM card. A key is needed to decipher the encrypted data once it is sent from the SIM card. The WJ1100A CipherJudge intercepts SIM key information and forwards it to WaveJudge for real-time decryption of Control and User Plane messages allowing identification and tracking of specific devices with commercial wireless networks.

 

Triggering and Filtering

To identify specific high-level messages of interest, WaveJudge provides complex and highly configurable filters. For example, configure filters to emphasize specific messages or to view only messages that contain specific parameter values.

 

When combined with WaveJudge hardware, configurable triggers define a particular type of message or parameter value for the software to find while processing a capture. Data capture starts when the trigger occurs to allow detailed examination of the desired event and following events once the capture is complete. Power thresholds and UTC triggers provide signals to external equipment to synchronize the start of testing. GPS and PPS triggering enable precision time stamps in tenths of microseconds. Specify a pre-trigger window to capture and analyze previous events.

 

Programming with AutoJudge

AutoJudge CLI is a scripting interface that automates wireless testing. AutoJudge automatically controls the connection to WaveJudge hardware, performs data capture and analysis, and configures analysis software and other features. Load or save captured files faster and easier, import or export signal data in ASCII format, and perform protocol decoding and additional capture and analysis functions.
