Application Notes
Oscilloscopes traditionally make measurements on signals based on what the screen shows. This type of measurement often has gaps, meaning that it does not include data between measurements. If an event of interest happens during the gap, the scope will not measure it. Furthermore, the accuracy of an oscilloscope’s screen-based measurements is determined by what is on the screen at the time. But users often want guaranteed accuracy specifications. For power analysis, specifications that change based on the horizontal scale are inconvenient. To avoid these limitations, the IntegraVision PA2200 Series power analyzers include a new type of data analysis called Continuous Whole-Cycle Analysis (CWA).
