What upgrade options are needed to update my Windows operating system, processor board or solid state drive on my X-Series signal analyzer?
To determine the upgrade options that need to be ordered, the processor option that is currently installed in the analyzer must be known. Press the [System], {Show}, {System} keys on the analyzer to obtain the processor option. Additionally, if your analyzer has an instrument software version A.03.00 or lower, read the Instrument Software Revision notes below analyzer figure. The analyzer figure below illustrates an MXA, Signal Analyzer with instrument software version A.11.03 using processor option PC2.
If the analyzer is not readily available, an estimate of what CPU is most likely installed in the analyzer based upon its serial number can be obtained here. Please note, however, that the serial number based information is not 100% accurate due to options that may have been ordered with the analyzer and prior repairs and/or upgrades which might have been performed on the analyzer.
Instrument Software Revision: (5th entry down in the above image)
- Instrument software revisions A.03.xx are compatible with the PC3 processor on the N9010A, EXA Signal Analyzer, yet will not identify PC3 in the {Show}, {System} display.
- Instrument software revision < A.02.00 will have a PC1 processor.
- Win 10 with PC6/PC7 requires >= A.20.03 software
- Win 10 with PC8/PC9 CPU requires >= A.30 software
- Win 10 with PCA/PCB CPU requires >= A.35 software
Processor Option Notes:
- PC1, PC2, PC3 are all 32-bit processors and are incompatible with Windows Embedded Standard 7.
- Windows Embedded Standard 7 requires processor option PC4, PC5, PC6 or PC7. These are 64-bit processors.
- Windows 10 requires processor option PC6, PC6S, PC7, PC7S, PC8, PC9, PCA, PCB. For A model instruments only PC6/6S/7/7S are available.
