8922 FAQ: Why Does the 8922 Use Broadband Power Measurements?

The 8922 is designed to make broadband power measurements.

This is a legacy of the 8920, from which the 8922 was developed. Also, the same hardware in the 8922 is used to make some of the power measurements for the DCS1800 band. The stepped-down frequencies from the 83220, however, are not the same as the GSM900 frequencies so a narrow band filter would be impractical.

There are no plans to add a narrow band filter to the 8922 as it is at the end of its development life.
