Hardware Upgrades for 89600S VXI Systems

Hardware Upgrades

89600 VXI hardware systems are flexible and widely configurable for many signal analysis applications. To upgrade your 89600 VXI hardware system:

1. You must use this guide to help you find the individual parts required. You must order all the specified parts since upgrade kits for the 89600 VXI hardware systems are not offered.
2. You must perform the system assembly and upgrade yourself, by installing the correct VXI modules in the appropriate VXI mainframe. Arrangements can be made for Keysight service organizations to provide consulting services to aid in the assembly of your system.

All purchased VXI modules and mainframes will have an individual calibration and/or performance test. Therefore, any system using properly calibrated modules will meet its specified performance. If you feel it is important to verify the performance of your upgraded system, you may send it to your local Keysight Service Center and request a System Verification Test.

Internal Hardware Upgrades

Within the configuration options of 89600 VXI hardware systems, there are four major classes of systems, designated by frequency range:

• The 89610 is a one- or two-channel baseband VSA system, offering analysis from DC to 40 MHz. An 89610 system features any of these VXI modules in the system: 89606A, 89606B, E1438A, E1438C.
• The 89611 is a one- or two-channel 70 MHz IF VSA system, offering analysis from DC to 36 and 52 to 88 MHz. An 89611 system does not contain any E273xx modules and ONLY features these VXI modules in the system: E8491B, 89605B, and E1439A/C.
• The 89640 is a one- or two-channel RF VSA system, offering analysis from DC to 2.7 GHz. An 89640 system features either of these VXI modules in the system: E2730A or E2730B.
• The 89641 is a one- or two-channel RF VSA system, offering analysis from DC to 6.0 GHz. An 89641 system features either of these VXI modules in the system: E2731A or E2731B.

To upgrade your 89600 VSA 1-channel or 2-channel system to any of the options below, you must purchase the individual parts that are listed in the table below.

¹E1438C-mem indicates that you should configure your memory according to your Serial number. All memory sizes should match if you're using more than one. For more information, click here.

²E1439C-mem indicates that you can order one of the following: E1439C-144 (144MB), E1439C-288 (288MB), E1439C-001 (1152MB). Memory sizes should match if you're ordering more than one.

External Hardware Upgrades

You can purchase rackmount kits for your 89600 VXI System.  There are different kits available for the different types of VXI mainframes.  You can find more information below.
