Automatic triggering is a convenient way to capture a waveform, but it can be less accurate than normal triggering. Normal triggering allows engineers to specify the exact point at which they want to capture a waveform, which can be useful for troubleshooting problems. For example, if you want to capture a specific pulse, you can use normal triggering to specify the exact time at which the pulse occurs.
