Gigafactories produce battery cells at high volumes to support the demand for electric vehicle (EV) batteries. To meet quality standards, each cell undergoes careful measurement during the manufacturing process. However, it’s not possible to obtain an accurate read on a cell’s cycle life due to the sheer quantities of cells, hence manufacturers carry out sampling measurements. This webcast presents a case study on how a major cell manufacturer implements its cell cycling quality gate at its gigafactory. It discusses considerations such as capital equipment, floor space, safety and energy consumption, and data analysis.
