Recommended replacement product: No direct replacement, consider the 34972A Data Acquisition Switch Unit (LAN and USB interfaces). This easy to use unit provides three slots for 8 different switch modules. Alternatively, consisder the 34980A (LAN and USB interfaces) multi function switch measure unit. The 34980A has 8 slots with 21 different module types, including a low thermal EMF switch module. Both the 34972A and 34980A come standard with a 6½ digit high accuracy digital multimeter.

Transitioning from the Signametrics products to Keysight

The SMU4032 USB multiplexer is specifically designed for making measurements with a precision multimeter. These USB switches maintain the signal accuracy necessary to make 6½ or 7½ digit measurements. The SMU4032 uses an isolated structure, high accuracy components and optical isolation, minimizing noise and keeping thermal EMFs less than 1 µV. These low thermal EMF errors make it possible to make accurate measurements of voltages in the mV range and resistances in the mΩ range.

Three optional accessories may be used with the SMU4032. The standard screw terminal block is the SMX40, the screw terminal block with isothermal structure and block temperature sensor for use with thermocouples is the SMX40T, and the loopback test module is the SMX40L.
