E8875A 3GPP FDD W-CDMA Design Library makes it possible to rapidly develop 3GPP designs in ADS. It also helps verify those designs against the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Wideband CDMA (W-CDMA) specifications. It also provides behavioral models, and pre-configured Test and Verification setups which evaluate design performance parameters such as Adjacent Leakage Ratio (ACLR), Error Vector Magnitude (EVM), Peak Code Domain Error, coded Bit Error Rate (BER), and more.

Product Features:

Pre-Built Algorithmic (Behavioral) Models for ADS
Pre-built ADS algorithmic models are supplied for user-equipment and base station sources. Models for rate 1/2 and 1/3 convolutional coding, rate 1/3 turbo coding, rate matching and multiplexing, HPSK scrambling, fading, and many other features of the 3GPP FDD specification are provided.

Pre-Defined System Measurements

Pre-defined system measurements include coded, or uncoded Bit Error Rate (BER), Block Error Rate (BLER), Error Vector Magnitude (EVM), and many others.

Pre-Configured Test and Verification Projects

Pre-configured Test and Verification projects help with design verification throughout the design process. Designs can be tested, at any point in the design cycle, against many of the transmitter and receiver tests specified in the 3GPP TS 25.101, and TS 25.104, TS 34.121, and TS 25.141 technical specifications.

Baseband Functionality
3GPP FDD W-CDMA Design Library contains baseband functionality including framing, encoding, interleaving, and spreading to help model the physical channel of the 3GPP W-CDMA system.

These library elements support rapid, parallel design cycles by making an RF system and circuit design baseline available well before the baseband designs are complete. When the designs are ready, simply substitute the actual baseband designs for the library elements.

Connectivity to Test Equipment

Connectivity between the Advanced Design System and test equipment, " Connected Solutions", helps bridge the gap between design and test, combining with the 3GPP W-CDMA Design Library to create a seamless design flow.

3GPP W-CDMA Algorithmic (Behavioral) Models

3GPP FDD W-CDMA Design Library contains the following pre-built algorithmic models. These models are also known as behavioral models.

The models can be used as a starting-point for designs, or to provide the baseband functionality needed to begin evaluation of RF, system, and baseband designs.

Physical Layer Models

3GPP FDD W-CDMA Design Library models the physical layer, including the data and control logical channels, frame segmenting and multiplexing forming the coded-composite transport channel, and multiplexing for the dedicated physical data and control channels.

Multiple transport channels are multiplexed for transmission on one physical channel. OVSF codes with multiple spreading factors are used to support multiple data rates. HPSK modulation is used for uplink scrambling to reduce the peak-to-average ratio.

The library also includes a six-finger RAKE receiver to improve reception when the delay spreads are significant.
