What Do I Have to Do to Run a Test Fixture That Was Developed for Bank I on a Bank II System?

Question:

What do I have to do to run a test fixture that was developed for bank I on a bank II system?

Answer:

(Date: Apr 97: Version: B.02.XX) To run a bank I fixture on a bank II system (run a "left-handed" fixture on a "right-handed" testhead), you need to run the fix_flip and wire_flip contributed utilities. Fix_flip maps the fixture file from one bank to another, wire_flip maps the wirelist from one bank to another. These utilities are located in the /usr/hp3070/contrib/bin directory along with an instruction document in /usr/hp3070/contrib/doc/flip.doc

A few things you need to keep in mind after running the utilities are:

  1. Make sure the fixture id, fixture enable and safety disable pins are wired correctly in the front module (1 or 3). Fix_flip will make these changes to the fixture.flip file automatically and will write messages to the screen about which pin wires the user needs to change.

  2. Edit the board file to say bank1 instead of bank2 or vice-versa.

  3. Edit the board "config" file to include the new modules that are now being used, and comment out the ones that are not.

  4. Make sure power supply numbers match up correctly in the "config" file.

  5. Edit the vacuum well statement in testplan.

  6. Remember, the fixture will now be placed on the opposite bank of the testhead and will be rotated by 180 degrees.
