Introduction

============



The E5250 VXIplug&play driver provides various functions to control the Agilent E5250 
and perform measurement. The driver will make programming easier.





System Requirements

===================


The following system environments are required.



- Operating System
  Microsoft Windows 7 (32bit/64bit), Windows Vista (32bit), Windows XP Professional,
 
  Windows 2000 or Windows NT 4.0.

  It must be supported by the application development environment and Agilent I/O
  library 16.0 or later.



- Application Development Environment

  Microsoft Visual C++ or Borland C++Builder.

  It must be supported by the Agilent I/O library.



- Additional Application Development Environment for VXIplug&play driver
 
  Microsoft Visual Basic, National Instruments LabWindows or LabVIEW, or

  Agilent VEE. It must be supported by the Agilent I/O library.



- GPIB (IEEE 488) Interface and VISA I/O Library

  Agilent GPIB Interface with Agilent IO Libraries or equivalent.



- Computer and peripherals

  Required specifications depend on the application development environment.

  See manual of the application development environment. The CD-ROM drive is

  required to install the software.



- Minimum disk space for VXIplug&play driver

  2 MB





Installation Instructions

=========================



To install the Agilent E5250 VXIplug&play driver:



1. Insert the Software CD-ROM to the CD-ROM drive connected to your
 
   computer.

2. Execute E5250A.exe on the CD-ROM.

For the VXIplug&play driver, the help file hpe5250a.hlp is also available.

The help file will be stored in the folder <VISA Path>\Winnt\hpe5250a

after installation.



Note:

<VISA Path> indicates the folder specified when you install the VISA I/O 
library. In the default setting, <VISA Path> is \Program Files\Visa.
If you use the Agilent IO Library, you can verify <VISA Path> from the 
Agilent IO Libraries Installation and Path dialog box. To open the dialog
box, click the Agilent IO Libraries Control icon on the Windows task bar,
click View Documentation, and click Installation and Path Information.





Known Defects

=============



There are no known defects in the Agilent E5250 VXIplug&play driver.
