Important Note


Installing IC-CAP Add-on 2 on UNIX Systems

  1. Download the IC-CAP Add-on 2 installation script. For Linux, the installation script is named: ICCAP_640.260.LINUX_X86.sh.

  2. To avoid this installation overwriting any customized configuration files, back up any configuration files under $ICCAP_ROOT/iccap/lib  or $ICCAP_ROOT/config   (i.e. iccap.cfg, usersimulators, instraliases...).

  3. Change the permissions on the downloaded script to executable. For example, if the downloaded script file is named ICCAP_640.260.LINUX_X86.sh, enter the command:

  4. If needed, open a terminal window and change directories to the location of the installation script.

  5. Before you can run the script, the ICCAP_ROOT environment variable must be set equal to the installation directory and $ICCAP_ROOT/bin needs to be in your PATH environment variable. For example:

  6. Execute the installation script you downloaded in step 1. For Linux, that would be:

    Once the script starts, a confirmation message appears asking if you are sure you want to install the IC-CAP Add-on. Enter Y for yes and the installation process will begin. A series of messages will be displayed in the terminal window explaining what is being installed.

  7. Once the installation script completes, IC-CAP Add-on 2 is installed and ready to use.

Installing IC-CAP Add-on 2 on Windows Systems

After you download the self-extracting archive file

  1. Download the IC-CAP Add-on 2 installation executable, ICCAP_640.260.WIN32.exe.

  2. To avoid this installation overwriting any customized configuration files, back up any configuration files under $ICCAP_ROOT/iccap/lib  or $ICCAP_ROOT/config   (i.e. iccap.cfg, usersimulators, instraliases...).

  3. Use your Windows Explorer to navigate to the location where you saved the file.

  4. Double click the self-extracting archive file ICCAP_640.260.WIN32.exe to launch the Windows InstallShield program. The Windows InstallShield program will guide you through the remainder of the installation.

  5. Once InstallShield finishes, IC-CAP Add-on 2 is installed and read to use.
