Known Issues common to multiple releases

Administrator Password Security Loophole - Common to Releases 01.00, 01.01

Under certain circumstances, it is possible for a user in Operator (Locked) mode to wander back into the Administrator (Unlocked) mode.

This only happens under the following conditions:

1.   Someone has correctly entered the Administrator password and entered Administrator mode during a “session” AND

2.   Did not shut WTM down as part of leaving Administrator mode

The work-around for this issue is to ALWAYS close down WTM after being in Administrator mode in one of the following two ways:

1.   Close down WTM while you’re still in Administrator mode (after you’ve made changes/viewed settings, or whatever you wanted to accomplish) OR

2.   Close down WTM just after you’ve left the Administrator mode and returned to Operator mode by pressing the ‘Lock’ button.

Wireless Test Executive

The Wireless Test Executive is the platform component that is common to all Wireless Test Managers. This section briefly summarizes the features of the Wireless Test Executive.

This automated test software platform provides automated test development and support for testing wireless devices. It has an easy-to-use Graphical User Interface (GUI) that allows test operators to quickly run test plans. If required, administrators can easily change the configuration of the GUI to hide or show controls as required.

The Wireless Test Executive supplies each Wireless Test Manager with default Operator and Administrator user interfaces. If these do not meet your specific testing needs, development interfaces are provided which integrate with Microsoft® Visual Basic® Professional 6.0. These ActiveX™ development interfaces allow the developer to integrate the Wireless Test Manager and Methods of Measurement (MoM) instrument drivers within their own Microsoft® Visual Basic® project file (.vbp).

The Wireless Test Wizard guides you through the process of creating and modifying test plan steps and global parameters for your test plans. In addition, the Wireless Test Wizard can align the test database to your source code. The Wireless Test Wizard integrates into Microsoft® Visual Basic® Professional 6.0® allowing you to make updates to your Visual Basic project without manually writing large amounts of source code.

Other

This is an ActiveX™ Control which provides an interface to the Agilent 8960 Series 10 Wireless Communications Test Set with the E1968A GSM/GPRS Mobile Test Application (TA), Rev. This interface allows you, as the software developer to access many of the test set's call processing and measurement features. In addition, the dmmtMoM provides its own set of high level tools which are available for you to use.

This is an ActiveX™ Control which provides an interface to the Agilent Technologies 34970A Data Acquisition Switch Unit with 34901A, 34903A, and 34907A option cards.

This is an ActiveX™ Control which provides an interface to general purpose message-based instruments.
