Network Emulation Service

Network Emulation Service Overview
The Network Emulation Service is a vendor-neutral SaaS solution that provides a platform enabling you to:
- Design and deploy virtual networks on-demand easily.
- Integrate Keysight’s traffic generators and threat simulator appliances on the platform to provide realistic workloads for network emulation.
- Access the service securely from any web browser to run sales demos or POCs safely on the cloud, including layer 2–3 network infrastructure and layer 4–7 application security testing.
- Leverage administrative features that include workspace access control, usage logs, and managed virtual machine (VM) access.
- Predict usage costs with a simple model based on flexible credits.

Challenges with current Network Emulation Platforms

Problem:
- Requires special skills and tools to deploy and maintain elastic network emulation platforms.
- Fails to deliver a single platform that combines both advanced and easy to use network and traffic emulation capabilities.
- Provides complex pricing and platform unpredictability, especially when deploying in the cloud.
- Lacks support and collaboration between multiple vendors.
- Limits computational resources which prevents emulating full scale networks.
- Needs to manage access, store topologies, track usage, recall results, and compliance logs.
Solution:
- Offload deployment, day-to-day management activities, and support of emulation platforms to industry experts.
- Access powerful feature rich topology editing tools with built in Keysight traffic and threat emulation appliances.
- Predict costs and track usage with simplified and efficient tools.
- Secure and manage collaboration and sharing of component VMs and topologies with a multi-vendor consortium design.
- Leverage elastic access to vast cloud resources that meet your on-demand needs.
- Empower admins to manage user and workspace access, manage and share VMs and topologies, track costs and usage, manage emulation results, track logs, and more.

Use Cases

- Allow your network device sales and marketing teams to perform virtual demos of custom networks.
- Design and prove networks without vendor or scale restrictions.
- Showcase product in realistic environments emulating users, applications, or different types of network traffic.
- Emulate your customer’s existing production hardware (OpEx), with emulation of VMs provided by the OEM vendors.
- Provide sandboxes for network engineers, architects, and support teams to test outside of the production environment.
- Offer sandboxes for training and certification.
