Test Bluetooth Transceivers

Option 406 provides a powerful signal creation tool for Bluetooth radio transceiver design, development, and verification test applications at RF and baseband. Rather than spending valuable time creating your own Bluetooth test signals, this software provides a simple graphical interface to create fully-coded, standards-based Bluetooth packets and Bluetooth modulated data streams. Simply configure the desired Bluetooth waveforms on your PC and quickly download the waveforms to the E4438C ESG's internal baseband generator for playback.

Fully-Coded Signals Enable BER Analysis

Thoroughly test your Bluetooth transceiver's RF and baseband subsections with fully-coded Bluetooth packets and continuous PN data patterns for BER and PER analysis. To simplify BER test setup, an automated clock/gate/payload delay adjustment optimization routine is provided in the software. Using the routine, the data, clock, and gate signal timing alignment at the input of the ESG internal BER analyzer is easily determined and modified to ensure accurate test results.

Download Signal Studio to a PC to review the user interface and investigate the signal creation capabilities of the software prior to purchase. Each vector signal generator must be licensed separately in order to generate the signals created by the software.

Typical Applications

Signal Studio for Bluetooth is recommended for calibrated testing of Bluetooth transceivers and their components. Typical applications range from baseband chipset coding algorithm debugging and functional test to RF component, device, subsystem, and radio transceiver parametric test. Common receiver measurements include single- and multi-slot packet sensitivity, carrier to interference (C/I) performance, blocking performance, intermodulation performance, and maximum input level tests.
