Test 1xEV-DO Components and Receivers

Option 404 creates single and multicarrier 1xEV-DO waveforms for use with the ESG vector signal generator. The software provides a simple graphical user interface to configure all the physical layer channels required to create a 1xEV-DO test signal. The forward link channels include the pilot, MAC, traffic, and control channels. The reverse link channels include the pilot, MAC, ACK, and data channels.

Create up to 20 Carriers to Test MCPAs

Test multicarrier power amplifiers (MCPAs) with up to 20 carriers placed within a 60 MHz bandwidth. The forward link waveform includes an idle slot gain feature that can be used to vary the noise level relative to the pilot channel during idle slot transmissions. This allows the on/off power ratio to be set to meet the transmission envelope mask requirements of the system. Forward and reverse link physical channel parameters can be individually configured in each timeslot.

Fully Coded Signals for PER Testing of Receivers

Test receivers with the fully coded single-carrier forward link factory test mode (FTM) signals. Set the quantity of packets, packet payload data, data rate/ modulation type, and MAC index. To simulate a realistic packet transmission sequence, the software conveniently sets the traffic and control waveform sequence automatically.

Use the built-in Help file to view the user's guide, application information, and examples. Each E4438C ESG vector signal generator must be licensed separately in order to generate the signals created by the software.

Test power amplifiers, MCPAs, filters, modulators, demodulators, and other components with real-world 1xEV-DO test signals. Common measurements include adjacent channel power ratio, blocking, and modulation accuracy. Test 1xEV-DO receivers with fully coded 1xEV-DO test signals that enable packet error rate (PER) and bit error rate (BER) analysis. Common measurements include receiver sensitivity, maximum input level, and demodulation performance in the presence of interference.
