Starting with ADS 2014, there are some Connection Manager Client measurement cases (S-parameter PNA and ENA series Network Analyzers) where the Connection Manager Server is no longer required. Instead, use the CommandExpertMode add-on to Connection Manager Client. For more details, refer to the ADS 2014 CommandExpertMode Connection Manager PNA ENA Instrument Measurement Tool. Otherwise, Connection Manager Server is required to be installed for measurement of the full set of target Connection Manager Client and Ptolemy instrument links (Spectrum Analyzers, Voltage Oscilloscopes, Ptolemy Sink/Source CM_ parts). The license to run Connection Manager client and server are included in your core ADS licenses.

If you are using ADS 2009, the core ADS environment licenses include the link_measampmodeling license. No further license is required. If you are using a pre-2009 ADS version, the link_connect_mgr license is required and you may need to add it to your licenses.
