How do I find the HOST ID of my instrument or PC?

Keysight software options are licensed to many different types of hardware using a unique hardware identifier called the Host ID. The Host ID is composed of 1, 2 or 3 elements, depending upon the software model and the target hardware platform.

	All except Signal Studio: ESG PSG	Host ID is composed of instrument Host ID (8 character alphanumeric) and instrument serial number. Example: FEA73979,MY12345678 Note: There is a comma, and no spaces. To locate Host ID, press Utility > Instrument Adjustments > Instrument Options > Software Options.
	CXG EXG MXG	Host ID is composed of the instrument’s model and serial number Example: N5182B,MY12345678 Note: There is a comma, and no spaces. Model and serial number can be found on a tag on the instrument’s rear panel or by pressing Utility > Instrument Info > Diagnostic Info from the front panel.
	UXG	Host ID is composed of the instrument’s model and serial number Example: N5194A,MY12345678 Note: There is a comma, and no spaces. Model and serial number can be found on a tag on the instrument’s rear panel or by pressing System > Instrument Info > Diagnostic Info from the front panel.
Baseband Generator and Channel Emulator	PXB	Host ID is composed of the instrument’s model and serial number Example: N5106A,MY12345678 Note: There is a comma, and no spaces. Model and serial number can be found on a tag on the instrument’s rear panel or by selecting System > Product Information from the front panel.
Wireless Communications Test Sets	EXT-A (E6607A) EXT-B (E6607B) EXT-C (E6607C)	Host ID is composed of the instrument’s model and serial number Example: E6607B,MY12345678 Note: There is a comma, and no spaces. Model and serial number can be found on a tag on the instruments’ rear panel or by selecting System > Show > System from the front panel.
Wireless Communications Test Sets	E6630A EXM (E6640A) EXF (E6650A)	For these models the software is licensed to the controller PC (internal or external) Host ID is composed of the keyword PCSERNO and the PC’s internal serial number Example: PCSERNO,FC12345678 Note: There is a comma, and no spaces. The PC’s internal serial number can be found by running Keysight License Manager software from the Start menu. (Start > All Programs > Keysight > Keysight License Manager > Keysight License Manager).
Remote Radio Tester	E6610A	Host ID is composed of instrument’s model and serial number and the keyword PCSERNO and the PC’s internal serial number Example: E6610A,KR1234578,PCSERNO,FC12345678 Note: There are a commas, and no spaces. The PC’s internal serial number can be found by running Keysight License Manager software from the Start menu. (Start > All Programs > Keysight > Keysight License Manager > Keysight License Manager). The instrument’s serial number can be found on a tag on the instrument’s rear panel.
Modular Products and VXT	M819xA M938xA N824xA M941xA M942xA M9330A M9331A M9336A P9336A	For most modular products the software is licensed to the controller PC. Host ID is composed of the keyword PCSERNO and the PC’s internal serial number Example: PCSERNO,FC12345678 Note: There is a comma, and no spaces. The PC’s internal serial number can be found by running Keysight License Manager software from the Start menu. (Start > All Programs > Keysight > Keysight License Manager > Keysight License Manager). Special Note: Signal Studio Apps for M819xA requires 2 elements in the Host ID Example: PCSERNO,FC12345678 Special Note: Signal Studio Apps for M9330A, M9331A and N824xA requires 4 elements in the Host ID Example: N8241A,US1234578,PCSERNO,FC12345678 Special Note: Signal Studio Apps for P9336A requires 3 elements in the Host ID Example: P6001A,US1234578,ABCDEF123456789 For the M819xA, the model number is visible on the front panel of the module or within the main firmware panel. For the M933xA, M942xA, and N824xA the model number can be found in the Soft Front Panel software (on the right side of the UI).
Signal Studio inside SystemVue or licensed to any PC controller		The software is licensed to the controller PC. Host ID is composed of the keyword PCSERNO and the PC’s internal serial number Example: PCSERNO,FC12345678 Note: There is a comma, and no spaces. The PC’s internal serial number can be found by running Keysight License Manager software from the Start menu. (Start > All Programs > Keysight > Keysight License Manager > Keysight License Manager). Special Note for server configurations: Signal Studio with SystemVue can support floating licenses (Server based). If you purchased a floating license, you should use the internal serial number from the Server PC (not the Client PC) to form the Host ID for your Signal Studio software license.
