How is the E1406A memory configured from the factory?

The E1406A ships from the factory with all the memory it can support. From the datasheet, this is 1.75 MB FLASH memory and 2 MB RAM. This memory is configured into the following 5 regions:

1. FLASH - operating system
2. FLASH - DSCPI drivers
3. RAM (DRAM) - Driver RAM battery backed up and not cleared on power up
4. RAM (NRAM) - System tables; also battery backed up and not cleared on power up
5. RAM (user) - Runtime User data; cleared on power up.
   

When shipped from the Factory, items 3 to 5 are empty and items 2 and 3 are pre-loaded, as follows:

Additional drivers can be loaded into the E1406A's RAM location. The instrument first looks in RAM for a driver before looking in FLASH. Any download of drivers into the E1406A RAM erases its contents before installing the requested drivers.
