Choosing between E1406A Command Module and E8491B Firewire

The speed of the E8491B Firewire interface is highly variable. A small data transfer might be almost the same speed as a E1406A, however, a large block transfer may be up to 100 times faster.

The E8491B requires the Keysight IO libraries, where as the E1406B will work with almost any vendors GPIB hardware and software.
