Instrument SW & FW Version Requirements for KS2201A
The new generation of HVI technology is only programmable by KS2201A PathWave Test Sync Executive and is not backward compatible with the previous generation of HVI technology (M3601A).
The following table summarizes the firmware and software versions required for KS2201A operation with supported PXIe instruments: M3xxxA and M5302A.

(1) KS2201A 2020 Update 1.1 is the last release that supports M9031A. M9031A has been replaced by M9032A/33A. To use M9031A, it is required that all instrument software versions comply with the versions specified in the table above for KS2201A 2020 Update 1.1. If you have issues using M9031A with KS2201A 2020 Update 1.1, please verify all installed instruments software versions and also the "Keysight HVI2 Core Technology" version is 1.4.x (this can be checked in the control panel in the list of installed software). If the issues persist or you cannot upgrade/downgrade any software installation, please contact Keysight support at https://support.keysight.com.

Notes:
- Firmware and software upgrade/downgrade can be executed by the end user. There is no need to return the module to Keysight.
- PathWave Test Sync Executive (KS2201A) is not compatible with the older M3601A. To use the compatible version of KS2201A software, you need to first install the specific SW and FW version listed above
- Option HV1 on the M3xxxA modules is required for operation with either KS2201A or M3601A. Other instrument modules use the HV2 option or the KS2201A software license.
