Deciding which oscilloscope you need for your bench presents a challenge. With so many seemingly similar, high-quality oscilloscopes available, a side-by-side data sheet comparison can leave you in the same place you started — not sure which scope will prove best for your bench. That’s why understanding specifications beyond the data sheet is so important. The question you are trying to answer is, “which scope can quickly and easily capture all signal problems accurately so I can debug my device?”
The Tektronix 4 Series oscilloscope has bandwidth options from 200 MHz to 1.5 GHz. This bandwidth range overlaps with a few of Keysight’s InfiniiVision oscilloscopes. The InfiniiVision 4000 X-Series provides 200 MHz to 1.5 GHz, and Keysight’s 6000 X-Series has bandwidth options from 1 GHz to 6 GHz. These oscilloscopes cover a wide range of applications and are primarily used for quick debug and signal characterization.
