How to upgrade your Embedded Controller to Windows 10

You can easily update your Embedded Controller (M9036A, M9037A, and M9537A) to Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB by swapping out the SSD with a new Windows 10 SSD. Purchase the appropriate Windows 10 SSD for your embedded controller from Keysight, remove the old SSD and install the new Windows 10 SSD. The instructions for swapping out the SSD are in your User Guide. The IVI API has not changed. Your applications should compile and run with no problems. Many people are migrating to Windows 10, because Microsoft support plans for WES 7 and Win 7 have limits. Prior to deciding to upgrade to Windows 10, be sure to check the technical support web page of your PXIe Modules to verify that a Windows 10 driver is available for each of your PXIe Modules.

NOTE: The Keysight HostID will change when you swap SSD. If you have Keysight-licensed SW on the old SSD, you will need to re-host SW products which are transportable. Refer to Why did my HostID change?
