Precise & Cost-Effective Non-Destructive Testing of Critical Materials

MWI offers a range of standard and customized hand-held E-Pods sensors that can measure resistive materials as a hand-held device, in defect detection XYZ Scanner, or for laboratory QA and in-process QC inspection configuration.

The MWI_LPL175 (E-pod) is a linear polarized eddy current sensor with dimensions 6” x 4” x 0.25” and has an operating frequency range within the VHF band. It is capable of measuring sheet /web materials used as a hand held device or as a defect detection device when placed in a XYZ Scanner or used for in-line QC inspection configuration.

It has a beam size of 1.0 inches in diameter and can be adjusted for aligning the E-field for down-web or cross-web directions. It’s primarily used to non-destructively measure resistive loaded sheet and composite materials at VHF frequencies

The MWI_HHLPLXXX (E-pod) uses a linear polarized Eddy current sensor with dimensions 6”x4”x0.25” and weighs <0.5 lbs., in a hand held, robotic or table top configurations which can be adjusted for a single resonate frequency operating from 90 MHz to 1.5 GHz.

We also offer designs for similar devices that sweeps over narrow bands within the VHF / UHF bands. It is capable of measuring resistive sheet with ohm/ square values ranging from 10 to 95,000. These antennas can be customized to meet specific needs and sensitivities.

  •  Non-destructive testing of critical materials
  •  Single resonate frequency of 90 MHz - 1.5 GHz
  •  Adjustable for the E-field down-web or cross-web
  •  Used with Keysight’s Vector Network Analyzers
  • Cost effective solution for lab QA, in-process QC, post repair verification and maintenance inspection

Linear Polarized Resonate Loop Sensors (E-Pods)

MWI’s hand-held E-pod sensors when combined with a Keysight’s Vector/Performance Network Analyzer allow customers to save time on testing, reduces manpower cost, while increasing product quality if inspected in a Laboratory Quality Assurance or during manufacturing via an in-process Quality Control environment.
