What are the internal cal standards in FieldFox used for?

The internal standards are only used with QuickCal. So if you don’t have the QuickCal option on your analyzer or don’t perform QuickCal calibrations, you’re never going to use the internal standards. What happens when you perform a QuickCal is the internal standards are used, in combination with the user’s open and possibly load connections to calculate new error terms (new directivity, new source match). So really, QuickCal is just another user calibration. A simple one, but a user calibration that uses the internal standards, in addition to some very simple external connections (open or load) to correct for drift and other error terms. When you press QuickCal on a FieldFox, for that calibration, it updates the factory cal (CalReady) with new values using the internal cal standards. It doesn’t overwrite the original factory cal. Just for that instance of calibration, it uses updated values. So now you’re calibrated to the test port. Then QuickCal does an improved auto-port extension to the end of your cable.
