Which Keysight oscilloscopes have a 10 MHz reference input/output?
A 10 MHz reference input/output can be used for one of three reasons:
- To supply a more accurate sample clock signal to the oscilloscope
- To synchronize the time base of two or more instruments
- For calibration on the higher end scopes
When you plug in a 10 MHz reference signal the hardware frequency counter of your oscilloscope is automatically changed from a 5-digit counter to an 8-digit counter. This allows your oscilloscopes frequency counter to be as accurate as your external clock.
