Windows® 7 for i3070 system and controller upgrade

Effective 22nd October 2011, Keysight will no longer be shipping any products with Windows XP Operating System (OS). All new i3070 ICT systems shipped from 23rd October 2011 will be installed with Windows 7 OS.

Moving forward, a new i3070 software version 08.21p (including test development workstation) will be released to support the Windows 7 32-bit OS. Version 08.21p has the same functionality as the existing version 08.20pb. There is no enhancement or bug fix in version 08.21p. The only difference is that it will support both the Windows XP and Windows 7 32-bit OS. The new i3070 system with Windows 7 32- bit OS is expected to start shipping 23rd October 2011.

What are the changes in the ordering process?

There will be changes in the quotation, order processing, shipping and support activities for i3070 ICT starting September 2011. Here are some important dates that might be helpful to you if you are currently planning to purchase your next i3070:

If you wish to order your i3070 ICT/PC Controller Upgrade pre-installed with Windows XP

4th Sep 2011: This is the last day which Keysight can quote for i3070 ICT/PC controller upgrade with Windows XP

16th Sep 2011: This is the last day which Keysight will accept a PO for an i3070 system

23rd Sep 2011: This is the last day which Keysight will accept a PO for a controller upgrade

21st Oct 2011: This is the last day which Keysight will ship the above with Windows XP

If you wish to order your i3070 ICT/Controller Upgrade pre-installed with Windows 7 32-bit OS

5th Sep 2011: This is the first day which Keysight can quote for i3070 ICT/PC controller upgrade running on Windows 7 32-bit OS

23rd Oct 2011: This is the first day which Keysight can start shipping i3070 ICT/PC controller upgrade running on Windows 7 32-bit OS

How does this impact your Software Update Subscription?

If you are currently on Keysight’s Software Updates Subscription (SUS), please note that there will be no SUS distribution for the 08.21p release, since it has the same functionality as the preceding version 08.20pb which you may already be using on your i3070 systems. The next SUS distribution will be for 08.30p release, which is scheduled for Jan 2012. The 08.30p release will also support both the Windows XP and Windows 7 32-bit/64-bit OS.

Should you however, wish to upgrade your existing i3070 systems to the Windows 7 environment, you could purchase a One-time Software Update for the 08.21p release. Please note that you will need to purchase the Windows 7 32-bit OS independently of Keysight. Alternatively, you may wish to purchase the PC Controller Upgrade offer from Keysight, which comes pre-installed with Windows 7.
