How do I save a screen image from my 5000/6000/7000-series InfiniiVision oscilloscope to a USB storage device?
These instructions assume that your scope has system software version 05.00 or later (see Utility | Service | About Oscilloscope -> System version to see your scope’s version). Upgrades are available at https://www.keysight.com/find/6000sw.
To save a .BMP or .PNG screen image to a USB storage device, do the following:
- Plug in the USB storage device.
- Press the Save/Recall button and then the Save softkey.
- Press the Format softkey repeatedly to select the PNG or BMP format. Both formats are recognized by current versions of Windows. PNG files take a little longer to create but have a much smaller file size.
- Make sure the Save to softkey reads "/usb0" and press Press to Save. The scope will create the image file on your USB device with an automatically generated file name (e.g. scope_0.png). Or you can press File Name to specify your own file name.
- Optionally, you can make use of the Quick Print feature, which allows you to save files with a single press of the Print (or Quick Print) button. To enable Quick Print, press Save/Recall and toggle Quick Print on. Subsequent presses of Quick Print create additional PNG/BMP files with each file name incremented by 1. Note that this will work even after power is cycled; you will not need to repeat these steps unless you want to change to a different format.
