Developing Modular PXI and AXIe Tests for Measurement and Analysis Webcast

WHY THIS WEBCAST IS IMPORTANT

This webcast will discuss:
• An overview of modular instrument standards available today
• Comparing the PXI, VXI, and AXIe modular instrument standards
• Selecting the correct PXI or AXIe modular hardware based on IO connectivity, bandwidth, and frequency reference, and other requirements

This webcast will show live demonstrations of Keysight AXIe and PXI hardware and MATLAB software to:
• Generate complex signals including multi-tone, pulsed radar, and multi-carrier
• Pre-distort waveforms to compensate for hardware imperfections
• Capture IQ data with a signal analyzer and apply your own measurement routines
• Building and using GUI-based applications and test systems to acquire, filter, and analyze live signals

The webcast will conclude with a live Q&A session with Keysight and MathWorks engineers.

PRESENTER

Dave Barner, Solution Architect, Keysight Technologies, Inc.

Dave received the B.S.E.E. Degree from Iowa State University, Ames, IA., and the M.S.E.E. Degree from Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA., in 1985 and 1993, respectively. From 1985 to 1994 he was with the Advanced Electromagnetics Group at Lockheed Missiles and Space Co. designing and testing Antenna Systems and later helped develop and operate the Large Compact Range Radar Cross Section measurements facility. He received a patent disclosure in 1988 for Time Domain Reflectometry Techniques for Black Box Connector Verification. In 1994 he joined Harris Corp - Farinon Division designing Digital Microwave Communication Systems, performed propagation simulation and analysis, and developed and presented training classes on Transmission Engineering internationally. In 1996 he joined Sprint PCS as the RF Technical Lead for the planning and design of the PCS CDMA Cell Site Network for the state of Iowa until 1999. He is currently in a position of Modular Solutions Architect with Keysight Technologies providing test and measurement expertise for the Cellular Comms, Wireless, and Aerospace Defense industry, with a current focus on RF Modular Solutions. His professional interests are in the fields of Signal Generation, Vector Signal Analysis, Electromagnetics and Mathematics. His personal interests are Coaching Soccer, playing Chess, and enjoying special time with his four children and wife.
