System Engineers of next generation Electronic Warfare and Radar platforms need to validate pulse signatures of the radar while characterizing the behavior of non-compliant threats. This complex interaction between these two emitters requires a detailed understanding of how well the radar met design objectives, how long it took the threat jammer to respond to the radar, what its pulse characteristics were, how long the complete interaction lasted and whether there were any anomalies generated during the engagement. In short, designers need to answer the question, “What happened”?

During this 1 hour webcast, you will learn how commercially available test equipment can be configured to generate and record IQ data for a variety of threat scenarios. Analysis tools will be presented that help the system engineer quickly evaluate whether actual signal behavior met design objectives and whether the EW asset is ready for field deployment.

Jim Taber, Sales Director, X-Com Systems

Jim Taber is the Sales Director for X-COM Systems focusing on record and playback solutions for wideband digital RF systems. His interests include signal generation and characterization of wideband EW, radar and hopping radios. Prior to his current role, he was a product planner at Agilent Technologies and Tektronix focusing on arbitrary waveform generators, signal sources and vector network analyzers. Jim holds a BSEE from the University of Missouri – Rolla and master’s degree in the Management of Technology from National Technological University.

Brooks Hanley, A/D Solutions Marketing Engineer, Keysight Technologies

Brooks Hanley is an Aerospace/Defense Solutions Marketing Engineer at Keysight Technologies in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has held positions in solution marketing, applications support, new product launch engineering, and firmware engineering. Brooks holds a BSEE from Sonoma State University and an MSEE and MBA from California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo.
