USB Type-C Physical Layer Design Webcast

1   Hour | Webcast - recorded | Where & When

WHAT IS THE WEBCAST ABOUT

USB Type-C™ has wasted no time in becoming the fastest adopted USB standard. The reversible connector and the ability to deliver 100W of power is loved by the consumer, but significantly increases the complexity of the physical layer interconnections. Signal Integrity and Power Integrity Designers are scrambling to understand the cost/performance trade-offs and manufacturing design margins. Learn how the latest in channel simulation technology enables fast design space exploration of PCB routing, connectors, cables, multiplexers, re-drivers/re-timers, and equalization settings to optimize your next USB Type-C design with multiple interfaces. Take the opportunity to hear how Granite River Labs solved their latest USB design challenge for DisplayPort.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Signal Integrity and Power Integrity Engineers, and Design Managers

PRESENTER

Heidi Barnes, Senior Application Engineer, Keysight Technologies

Heidi Barnes is a Senior Application Engineer for High Speed Digital applications in the EEsof EDA Group of Keysight Technologies. Her recent activities include the application of electromagnetic, transient, and channel simulators to solve the challenges of high speed SERDES and parallel bus communication links. Heidi’s past experience includes 6 years in signal integrity for ATE test fixtures for Verigy, an Advantest Group, 6 years in RF/Microwave microcircuit packaging for Agilent Technologies, and 10 years with NASA in the aerospace industry. She was awarded the DesignCon Engineer of the Year Award on February 2, 2017.

Miki Takahashi, Vice President of Engineering, Granite River Labs

Miki spent 15 years at O2Micro, Advanced Chip Express and NEC most recently as Analog Design Manager, taking the lead in SERDES IP development and integration into ICs and systems. Miki is an expert in SERDES design, SD Interfaces (UHS-1, UHS-2), CF Interfaces (CFast, XQD), and JEDEC (DDR, UFS). Miki currently Chairs the SD Card Association UHS-TG to drive SI discussion and test specification for UHS-II (SD4.0)
