Firewire for VXIbus, The Keysight E8491B

The History of Test & Measurement Connectivity

IEEE 488, known also as HP-IB or GPIB, started out as one of the first ways to connect a computer to external instrumentation. Developed by first by Hewlett Packard (HP), and then by Keysight Technologies, it was designed to provide easy and standard connection between computers, controllers, and instrumentation. Note that the PDF file indicates HP, but what was the HP E8491 now consists of two different models: the Keysight E8491A and E8491B, where the latter is the VXIbus interface for firewire connectivity.
