How do I get my N3300/01A to output a negative going trigger pulse?

The trigger out of the N3300/01A electronic load mainframes is a positive pulse. Many electronic instruments require a negative pulse for a trigger in signal. The workaround is to use the digital port functionality of the electronic load. The digital port is located on the same connector on the mainframe as the trigger out pin.

The correct way to connect the electronic load to take advantage of the digital port is to first connect Pin 1 to the “trigger in” pin of the electronic load mainframe. Pin 2 would then be connected to the instrument to be triggered with the digital ground connected as required. A trigger in the electronic load is now caused by setting the load trigger source to the external trigger in port. The command to do this is TRIG:SOUR EXT. The digital port should also be set to the value of 2 (PORT1 2). When a trigger is required, the following sequence of commands must be sent: PORT1 1, PORT1 2. This command sequence will be used instead of the trigger command. The first command is what will cause the trigger and the second command will reset the digital port to be ready for another trigger.
