Internet of Things (IoT) Teaching Solution – IoT Wireless Communications

Designed to equip students with the knowledge on how to develop typical IoT applications with various types of wireless connectivity. Students will also learn how to perform quick verification and design validation on these IoT applications. With teaching slides and a training kit (development kit, sensor devices, XBee ZigBee® and LoRa kits, lab sheets with model answers and problem-based assignments) included, this solution is a useful resource for lecturers.

Learning Outcomes:

Students will be able to:

  • Understand the main attributes of the major wireless technologies for IoT
  • Understand and measure common impairments affecting radio performance
  • Interpret radio specifications
  • Compare and select suitable radio technology
  • Evaluate wireless technologies using leading-edge tools and software used in industry such as a signal analyzer and VSA software
